He was born in Lexington,Kentucky (and named after his
Uncle George)- but the family moved a lot according to his father's job schedule. They
mostly revolved around Cincinnati,
Ohio - where his father was a host of a popular local
talk show. He went to high school in Augusta,KY.
When he was 20, he returned to Lexington to stay
with a cousin Miguel Ferrer
(who is also an actor) and landed a small part in a
movie about horse racing called "And They're
Off", which was never released. After
shooting the movie, he cut tobacco and sold ladies shoes (look out Al Bundy!). Then he
drove across country country in a rusted out Monte Carlo, nicknamed the "Danger
Car" because it wouldn't go over 50 m.p.h. and stayed with his Aunt Rosemary
in California. He had a year of rejections before he landed his first role in a small
feature film (which also was never released). By age 23 however, he was starting to make a
name for himself as one of the best looking actors in Hollywood, and was very gainfully
employed, even though fifteen TV pilots were never picked up as a series.
but they divorced 3 years later. He has since had a series of
high profile romances, but says "I'll never be married again, and I'll never have
kids." |
